Silver Coins From The Atocha When the "mother-lode" of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha was located on July 20,1985, divers were astounded to see concreted chests of coins still encased in the wooden boxes in which they were shipped. When cleaned, these coins represented all of the New World mints, with the mint at Potosi being the most predominant.

These coins are clearly struck on the obverse and reverse sides, with the crest of the reigning Spanish king centered on the obverse. Mint mark assayer and denomination are often all visible. The reverse or cross side should be equally clear with lions and castles readily visible. CLICK HERE	Similar to grade 1, with features on the coin not quite so clear. In some cases this is due to carelessness when they were hand struck over 377 years ago; in others the action of the sea has caused minor corrosion. Please feel free to post my absolute accolades on your website!!!! When I return from vacation (yeahh...I know, the second one!) on August 11th....I would like to discuss re-mounting my 4 Reale Atocha necklace. Is it possible for you to find an AUTHENTIC small Atocha Emerald to mount with the coin? I have seen some out there...would need an original certificate with the emerald from Treasure Salvors to accompany it. I have seen them in the range of $675 to upwards of $2,600....for a 1.5 to 2.17 ct. Can you also do some quick designing of what would look good for me? My coin is 4 reales....13.3 grams...very round. Again....I look forward to working with you again on making my necklace nicer!!! Thanks! Bob
